Web 2.0 service planning
Open-source Digital Library Technology Evaluation and Planning
Project: XIST conducted an environmental scan of open-source digital library technologies, developed a high-level development schedule and made recommendations to migrate a legacy database to a web-based digital library platform.
Onsite Strategic Planning and Web Management Consulting
Project: XIST placed a consultant onsite to provide full-time web planning, communications policy and web development services for a Government of Canada client. Under the direction of the client, the consultant developed policies for web based communications, developed a strategic plan for aligning the department web site with emerging communication priorities, and provided project management services to guide the development team through a transition period, until a new web master was hired full time on staff.
Audio Video Production
Project: XIST developed a series of product videos for use on a commercial web site and to integrate with an internet marketing campaign. The videos were shot on location in London and Ottawa. Work included storyboard design, video photography, audio/video editing, and internet marketing through various social networking and Web 2.0 sites including Youtube and wikipedia.

Web 2.0 Planning
Project: XIST analyzed Web 2.0 services, technologies and practices for a Government of Canada department and outlined new opportunities that would support its core business activities. Research included interview sessions with staff, review of industry literature, and use of Web 2.0 services related to social networking, media sharing, social tagging, peercasting, syndication, blogs, wikis, and content mash-ups.
